Dr. Steven Mew received his Doctor of Chiropractic at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Mew believes in a biomechanical approach to treating injuries by combining both diversified adjustments and multiple soft tissue techniques. His focus is in diagnosing and treating postural misalignment, muscular and structural imbalances. Dr. Mew is trained in Active Release Techniques, Kinesio-Tape and Graston Technique. He has treated at various sporting events including the BMO Vancouver Marathon, Scotiabank Vancouver half Marathon, the Vancouver Sun Run and the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Matthew completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia and obtained his Diploma of Massage Therapy from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. With a passion for competitive powerlifting and ultimate frisbee, Matthew understands the value of proper biomechanics to excel in those sports. Matthew believes in the importance of treating muscular imbalances through manual therapy, patient education, and individualized treatment plans. Through RMT treatments, Matthew can address the root cause of problems rather than symptoms like muscle tension. Mao completed her BKin at the University of British Columbia and obtained her BSc in Athletic Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. She has been a Certified Athletic Therapist since 2022. Mao worked with Trinity Western University Women’s Soccer and Women’s Hockey teams in 2021-2023, and Unity FC in 2023. Mao enjoys outdoor activities such as running, kayaking and spike ball. She speaks fluent English and Japanese. Mao specializes in chronic injuries of the upper and lower extremities. She believes that finding out and treating the cause of the issue is the most important in effective patient treatment.

Dr. Terry Heras completed his Bachelor of Sciences in Biology from the University of British Columbia and received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West. His goal is to provide chiropractic adjustive therapy and supporting soft-tissue therapies to patients of all ages to maintain their current level of physical health and to help patients overcome acute or chronic musculoskeletal injuries. He was the team chiropractor for the Fernie Ghostriders Junior team from 2007 – 2009. Dr. Heras is trained in Active Release Techniques (Full Body), physical therapy modalities and Kinesio-Tape. He received the Vancouver Courier’s People’s Choice Award for Best Chiropractor in 2007. Braeden completed his Bachelors of Athletic and Exercise Therapy in 2021 at Camosun College in his hometown of Victoria, BC. His passion for sports and weight training has led him to work with hockey, rugby, and soccer players as well as runners. Growing up, Braeden played a variety of sports but ice hockey was his primary focus where he played up to the Junior level. With this background he has had the opportunity to work with a range of athletes from Rugby Canada, USports, and the WHL.

Braeden’s treatment philosophy stresses the importance of patient education, manual therapy, and he believes less is more when it comes to rehabilitation exercises. He will work with you in depth to find the root of the problem and not just treat the symptoms.

Jason completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology from UBC in 2009 and obtained his Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University. He has been Certified through the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association since 2011. Prior to joining Evolution Sport Therapy Jason worked as the Athletic Therapist with the UBC football team and has travelled worldwide with the Canadian Soccer Association’s U20, U17, and U15 teams. Shane completed her Bachelors of Athletic and Exercise Therapy at Camosun College in Victoria, British Columbia, and has been a Certified Athletic Therapist since 2016. Prior to joining Evolution Sport Therapy, Shane was the Athletic Therapist working with competitive Taekwondo athletes at Cascadia Martial Arts in 2015-2016. Being an athlete herself, Shane has played a variety of sports as well as earning her black belt in Shotokan Karate. She specializes in lower body acute/chronic pain, such as chronic back pain and ACL repair rehabilitation. She believes that effective treatment includes patient understanding of the injury and full body treatment. Shane uses a combination of manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation exercises to help promote the bodies healing process, and reduce risk of future injury.

Colby joins our team as a Physiotherapist who completed his BKin at the University of British Columbia and obtained his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia. Colby grew up playing several different sports choosing to pursue his passion for baseball playing at the university level for Douglas College and UBC.

Colby has a passion for living and promoting a healthy active lifestyle and believes that each patient has their own unique experiences that shape them, including their injuries. With this knowledge, he will design a treatment program that is specific to each patient utilizing a combination of manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, and education. He has a special interest in treating shoulder related injuries such as sport or work-related overuse tendinopathy injuries. Jonathan completed his BPE in Athletic Therapy from the University of Alberta and also his advanced certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University. Certified since 2004, Jonathan sat on the board of directors for the Athletic Therapists Association of BC for 5 years including a term as president. He has worked clinically since 2004 and was the Athletic Therapist for the Canadian National Tae Kwon Doe Team for the 2006 Commonwealth Championships, Canadian Senior Womans Basketball, Canadian U-18 womans soccer, and BC provincial soccer program. Having represented Team Canada on several occasions, Betsy is a decorated national level athlete: -Team Canada Co-ed beach ultimate frisbee - France 2017, Silver medal - Team Canada Masters Women’s ultimate frisbee - Dubai 2015, Silver Medal - Team Canada Women’s ultimate frisbee 2008, 2012, 2016 - Bronze medal finish

Craig completed his B.Sc. in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University and also obtained his Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. He previously worked as a Kinesiologist doing active rehabilitation for workers compensation and Motor vehicular accident patients. Since completing his advanced certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University, Craig has been Jonathan’s understudy at Evolution Sport Therapy. He is Certified with the Canadian College of Athletic Therapy since Nov, 2009.
